However, you're paying your journeyman welders and fitters to do mindless, simple, and repetitive tasks far below their skill level because there's nobody else to do the job. You can shift these tasks onto your apprentices or labourers, but their lack of experience, familiarity with the task, and your company's standards and procedures introduces the possibility of rework, increases your timelines, and demands oversight from your leadership and QC department who already have enough on their plate as it is.Rubicon Fabrication Solutions seeks to bridge the gap between these low-skill, repetitive tasks that are ultimately required for every organization, and the equipment, technology, and expertise that can get them done safer, faster, and more accurately than can be done in-house.

WHAT WE DO

Rubicon Fabrication Solutions is focused on automation from the top down. Modern technology is poised to revolutionize the manufacturing and construction sectors, but automation equipment is costly on both an upfront and ongoing basis, requiring skilled operators with a deep knowledge of the equipment and regular phone calls to the vendor to handle unforeseen issues. None but the largest organizations with the highest demands in production speed and volume can justify this sort of investment for a small piece of their value stream, and so fall back on manual labor to get the task done. Outsourcing is often not a good option, with shops willing to take on your production requirements adding a profit margin of their own and ultimately costing your organization more than it would to do the task in-house.At Rubicon Fabrication Solutions, we seek to take advantage of cutting-edge automation technology and philosophy to meet your production needs, while keeping the cost of your job below what is possible in-house - even with our profit margin on top. Tasks such as precision cutting, coping, and drilling of long stock, layout and cutting of sheet material, and many welding operations can be automated. Our team sees automation as the core consideration in our operations to reduce costs, minimize rework, reduce safety hazards, and speed up production, and so everything we do is with that in mind. We are committed to working with your organization to find a solution that exceeds your expectations.Additionally, we are able to handle some of the lesser-considered aspects of welding shop operations, further reducing your operating expenses in a way not directly considered in production costs themselves. As the we handle our materials in house, we are able to purchase in larger quantities from high-volume vendors, and handle the offcuts as they come out the door, saving your material handling department valuable time. Our quality control department handles MTRs, material identification, and inspection of finished products to save yours time.

Rubicon Fabrication Solutions is led by Chris Sparrow, a Red Seal Welder with 8 years of welding and leadership experience in multiple settings, from high-pressure pipe to high-throughput manufacturing, bespoke projects for the construction, oil and gas, and energy sectors, and plant maintenance.With a deep appreciation for technology and automation, Chris seeks at every turn to optimize his own work, with a focus on quality and efficiency. With a shortage of young skilled tradesman and a "do it the way we've always done it" attitude plaguing the industry, Chris brings a valuable forward-thinking approach to the jobs and tasks that he takes on.
